finally it's over. and the least to say, i was damn well happy to be leaving.

so i took a little ride to the capital of Malaysia over the past 4 days, where i enjoyed the joys and chastity of solo travel.

i did choose the correct date to travel because i was upgraded to the solitaire coach although i only booked a premium coach. man, the luxury of it all was simply overwhemling.

i put up at a nice four-star hotel in the golden triangle, with the only setback being that the breakfast menu didn't change. only the flavour of the fried rice changes, and they alternate between serving hash browns and potato wedges.

it was partly a trip down memory lane, because just last year i was there for urban geography field work. during a past life not too long ago, i did have the chance to meet a certain someone, and the little jaunt down berjaya times square, though short it was, was fun. thanks for the memories. and having missed out on the doughnuts last year due to a long queue, i was determined to buy it. so i did, except that there was no queue this time.

i joined 2 guided tours - one took me out of the city limits to commune with nature, and i was recalling the days in field camp. the other took me to the lake gardens, where i communed with birds, flowers and butterflies.

kl tower was heavenly bliss. sitting down at the rainforest cafe drinking rich strawberry milkshake at 1545 hrs, i was remembered of such a particular hour where i would be running round and round a grey track. now i drove round and round a grey track on the f1 simulator which comes with the ticket.

chinatown was quite a let-down, but central market was rich with flavour.

and so came the day to leave. having walked, i think, more in 4 days than in 9 weeks minus marches to nowhere, it was with great satisfaction that i left the city. thank you, kuala lumpur, for letting me have one of the most memorable 4 days of my life.

and the coach back? premium. it wasn't tt bad, but having been on the solitaire coach, it did look bad. anything else would have looked bad too.
