i guess i owe this place an update...
well, my aunty and uncle are back from Vancouver and we're enjoying ourselves at Bedok Swimming Complex and cafes at Bugis. next wk will be roti prata at Jalan Kayu.
five years just fly by. still remembered in 2003 after PSLE, i went over to Vancouver to visit them with my parents. we spent 16 days (actually 19, if flight time and crossing the international date line is included) in total there, and included a one-day drive down south to Seattle to see the Space Needle. crossing the US-Canada border was kind of weird.
and now that they are back, i'm beginning to get weird ideas. they have been asking me to go over next year after A-levels and i personally want to go over for 28 days (so that the normal tourist visa won't expire and i still get to spend a lot of time there). and since my mom wants to go Hokkaido next year, i had this plan that i will go Japan first for holiday with my parents then afterwards, when they return to Singapore with the rest of the tour group, i will fly by myself to Vancouver (cos my parents are like "if u want to go to Canada, u can go by yourself."). Now is to ensure that there are flights departing Narita for Singapore and Vancouver at roughly the same time. looks like i will get to spend over a month out of Singapore. cool.
and my uncle's encouraging me to go to the University of British Columbia (UBC) at Vancouver for undergrad studies. i was there in 2003 when my uncle had to meet some prof at UBC. must work extra hard..not easy to get in. UBC is ranked 36th in the world.
okay that's all for now. will be out of the country this wkend for an escape to Malacca.
